Praise God for Wisdom
9/30/25 Watch Your Speed On day 28 of the Wisdom for Life plan, the intro states: “Seek forgiveness for being slow to believe all that God has spoken.”Is “…being slow to believe…” the same as unbelief? What’s your speed?
9/22/25 What are You Working With? How does the wisdom of God impact your daily decisions, plans, and outlook? In the world there’s trouble—the forecast is cloudy, gloomy, and bleak. Yet when I open my eyes with praise to the Lord for the opportunity to complete His purpose in me, I am hopeful. Without the wisdom of God—the present as well as the future appears scary, but in Him I am as He is—powerful, courageous, and confident about the here and now and even more for my eternity! How about you?
9/14/25 We’re Out in These Streets The Gospel isn’t contained in the four walls of a building whether it is a church or a house. We carry the Gospel in us everywhere we go because we are the church! As wisdom cries out in public, (Prv 1:20), so must the messages we send as representatives of Christ. We aren’t under the radar as Christians—someone is always watching—this includes neighbors, colleagues, and community to see if our confession of faith aligns with how we’re living. Our prayer is to walk according to God’s plan everywhere we go. How do you share your faith in Jesus? Share your experiences and engage with our community through Bible study and prayer.
9/11/25 Who Told You That? The devotional “Avoiding Folly” encourages us to thoughtfully consider the origins of the advice we receive: Are we hearing from wise, godly individuals, or those who hold a more mocking view of faith? Remember a repeated MSA phrase taken from Genesis 3:11 Who told you that?
Taking a moment to reflect on the source can really enhance our understanding of the advice’s context and purpose. It’s crucial for determining whether the information we share is truly valuable. For instance, I always take the time to verify the media I share to prevent spreading any misinformation. It’s surprising how many times I've seen false claims about celebrities or wild conspiracy theories circulating on social media! Many platforms lack credibility.
So, I’d love to hear your thoughts: Do you take a moment to scrutinize the information before sharing it with others? What methods do you use to ensure accuracy? Let’s inspire each other to think critically and share wisely!
9/7/25 Don't Fool Yourself The Wisdom for Life plan addresses the differences in the definition of "fool" in ancient biblical times versus today. In past MSA services, we extensively discussed the meaning of "cuss words," those phrases deemed vulgar by most people. However, many of the same people have no problem calling someone a "fool." At the same time, in Matthew 5:22, Jesus says: "But I say to you that if you are angry with a brother or sister, you will be liable to judgment; and if you insult a brother or sister, you will be liable to the council; and if you say, 'You fool,' you will be liable to the hell of fire." Context is concrete—it is wise to study the author, audience, and background of the scriptures you say you live by. Rely on the Holy Scriptures and the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth.
8/30/25 Wisdom Works Proverbs is brimming with insightful advice for our daily lives! As we dive into the "Wisdom for Work From Proverbs" plan (on our YouVersion platform), let's explore how we can apply these timeless biblical principles in our businesses—whether with customers, colleagues, or supervisors. How do you let wisdom illuminate your path at work? We’d love to hear your experiences!
8/27/25 Legacy, Character, and a Good Name: Today's devotional really spoke to me, especially since it reiterates a question I posed during one of our recent services about "...until the smoke clears". Dr. Pritchard phrased his point about "the smoke" in a prayer: "Lord, help me focus on the things that matter so that when the smoke clears, I'll have something to show for my life on earth. Amen."
Post your prayer, praise, or penitence about Legacy, Character, and a Good name.
8/25/25 Which Way is Wisdom? What do you base your daily decisions on? As believers, are you living by faith found in the Word of God, or do you see yourself listening to ungodly counsel? To that end, can a godly person give ungodly counsel?
8/20/25 Who's Your Counselor? As we continue to discuss Proverbs, please go with me through the Words of Wisdom plan. What is some of the best godly counsel you received? We are using the NRSV for biblical references.
